St. Francis is known as the patron saint of animals as well as ecology.  In honor of this beloved saint, Trinity Hospital Twin City will hold a special blessing for pets on Tuesday, October 2nd at 6:30 pm outside the main entrance of the hospital.  Fr. Tony Lonzo, Pastor of Immaculate Conception Church of Dennison,  will celebrate this Blessing of Pets.  All are invited to bring their pet(s) for this blessing.  Please bring the pets on a leash, in a cage or some contained space and also bring something for “clean-up.”

On Saturday, October 4th, the Roman Catholic Church celebrates the Feast of St. Francis of Assisi.  Francis was born in 1181 and was only 45 when he died in 1226.  He was a dynamic person who has impacted the world even to this day.  His conversion experience led him to a deep love for all God’s creatures, even the animals.  He called them his brothers and sisters from brother wolf to sister rabbit.

“All are invited to bring their pets for this blessing,” shared Sister Dorothy Jayne Krupp, hospital Director of Mission Integration. “Please bring the pets on a leash, in a cage or some contained space and also bring something for ‘clean-up.’ All you animals, wild and tame, bless the Lord.
