About Dr. Timothy McKnight, MD

Dr. Timothy McKnight is a Board Certified Family Physician who has a Master of Science Degree in nutrition and earned his Medical Degree at the Ohio State University College of Medicine. He has also earned distinction as a Fellow in the American Academy of Family Practice (FAAFP).

Dr. McKnight became a physician because he enjoys helping to comfort the sick and heal those who want to be healed.

He is a family man who resides at New Philadelphia with his wife, son, two daughters and dog. He also has an adult daughter and an adult son.

Awards & Honors

Dr. McKnight is the founder and Director of the Trinity Hospital Twin City Fit for Life wellness program, a program which has helped more than 1,300 adults learn to make healthier lifestyle choices. Fit for Life is recognized as Promising Practice model for wellness, and, in May 2012, Dr. McKnight was invited to participate in a special rural healthcare meeting at the White House in order to share his input.

Interests & Hobbies

Dr. McKnight enjoys drawing, painting and playing sports, especially basketball, golf and pole vault. He also enjoys watching college football and basketball. He and his family are very active in church as well.

Most Rewarding Aspect of Being a Physician

When asked this question, Dr. McKnight replied, "helping people heal, and when necessary, helping patients die peacefully and with dignity."

Dr. McKnight was drawn to the Trinity Hospital Twin City area as part of his commitment and obligation to the National Health Service Corps (NHSC). He loves serving the good, quality people of the hospital's service area.
