Community Blood Draws

In our Laboratory

Trinity Health System Department of Laboratories has developed a Comprehensive Blood Analysis Program which will give individuals the opportunity to have a group of blood tests performed for $50.00.  Programs of this type are responsible for detecting early signs of health problems and monitoring treatment of known problems.

 

The following table lists the offered tests and their significance:

(Hemoglobin, Hematocrit, MCV, MCH, MCHC, RBC, WBC, and Platelets)
Anemia and other blood disorders as well as a way to measure the ability of red and white cells to perform their jobs, clotting ability, or an indicator for bacterial, viral, or parasitic infections.
CHEMISTRY PROFILE
GLUCOSEDiabetes or the tendency to acquire the disease.
CHOLESTEROL, TRIGLYCERIDE, HDL/LDLRisk of heart disease and the measurement of body fats.
AST, ALTEnzymes to measure and evaluate liver function.
TOTAL BILIRUBINWaste product elevated in liver disease.

 

 

ALKALINE PHOSPHATASEEnzyme elevated in liver and bone disease.

 

 

BUN (Blood Urea Nitrogen)Analyte elevated in kidney disease.  Renal failure marker.
CRT (Creatinine)Analyte elevated in kidney disease.  Renal failure marker.
URIC ACIDIndicator of gout and other arthritic states.

 

 

ELECTROLYTES
(Sodium, Potassium, Chloride, Total CO2)
Measures fluid imbalance, monitors hypertension, dehydration, and effectiveness of blood pressure medications.
CALCIUMMarker of bone disorders and disease.
TOTAL PROTEINMeasurement of protein/calorie ratio.  Malnutrition marker.
ALBUMINIndicator of liver disease and nutritional status.

 

 

THYROID SCREEN
TSHUsed to evaluate thyroid gland function, and to help diagnose overactive or underactive thyroid gland.
OPTIONAL TESTING FOR AN ADDITIONAL FEE OF $15.00
HBA1cThe HBA1c test is used primarily to monitor the glucose control of diabetics over time.
OPTIONAL TESTING FOR AN ADDITIONAL FEE OF $20.00
Vitamin DTo determine if you have a vitamin D deficiency; if you are receiving vitamin D supplementation, to determine if it is adequate
