DENNISON—About 15 million Americans suffer from depression. The stress and emotional toll of the upcoming holiday season can increase depression symptoms. To offer hope and help for area residents affected by depression, Trinity Hospital Twin City has teamed up with Ten Lakes Center to provide a free educational mini seminar about depression on Thursday, November 14rd at 6 pm at Park Christian Church, 236 Miller Avenue. Those who attend will receive healthy snacks, the chance to win door prizes, educational information and the opportunity to hear from Debra Gardner, CEO of Ten Lakes Center, and psychiatrist Dr. Mark Zedar, Medical Director of Ten Lakes Center.

Gardner will present an in-depth informational discussion about depression symptoms and treatment options. She is a registered nurse with a Master of Science degree in psychiatric nursing and over 20 years experience in the field of behavioral health. After Gardner’s presentation, Dr. Zedar will lead an interactive question and answer session.  Dr. Zedar is a Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine who has served as Medical Director of Ten Lakes Center for more than three years.

“The topic of depression has been requested by participants at many of our past mini seminars, and this event provides a valuable opportunity to raise awareness and provide hope for those affected by depression, especially with the holiday season about to begin,” explained Tiffany Poland, Trinity Hospital Twin City Director of Community Outreach. “We are fortunate to partner with the mental health experts at Ten Lakes Center to provide this educational event.”

Those who suffer from depression or think they may have depression and those who want to support a loved one who has depression are encouraged to attend this free mini seminar.
