Trinity Hospital Twin City Promotes Healthy Sleep

DENNISON—Staff at Trinity Hospital Twin City’s Sleep Lab are taking the week of March 2-8th to remind the community about how getting a good night’s sleep can promote good health. Sleep Awareness Week is an annual public education and awareness campaign set by the National Sleep Foundation to promote the importance of sleep. The week ends with the clock change to Daylight Savings Time, when Americans lose one hour of sleep.

To help others learn about healthy sleep, Trinity Hospital Twin City is featuring two blog articles about healthy sleep and sleep disorder symptoms, a sleep disorder risk test, and a video about the hospital’s sleep lab services on its website at www.trinitytwincity.org. “We want the community to know that sleeping well should be a priority,” shared Jerod Roth, RRT, Director of Cardiopulmonary Services. “People who don’t get enough sleep are at a higher risk for developing heart disease, diabetes, high blood pressure, depression and obesity.”

“We also want to offer hope for people who think they might have a sleep disorder,” shared Roth. “The good news is that most sleep disorders can be treated easily. A person just needs to talk to a doctor about getting a sleep study test to determine if a sleep study test is needed.”

To schedule a sleep study test at Trinity Hospital Twin City, call (740) 922-7405.
